The report has established clear fact and involvement of army group in human right violation committed within the territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo from March 1993 to June 2003. With over 1,280 witnesses, 617 alleged violent case and 1500 document related to human right violation, this mapping exercise has gather strong evidence of abuse which can bring instigator to face justice for crime of genocide.UN (2010) Advocating for peace and reconciliation the PFP do not exclude further investigation or any judicial pursuit of person involves in the massacre of thousands of innocent people; which included vulnerable old people, pregnant women, children and babies. But believes that it is a part of peacemaking to bring any guilty person to face the international court of justice and use it as an example to other people still acting in the same way. Prayer for peace greet the impartiality of the UN nation and press for more action from the permanent member of the security council and specifically Britain, America and France to put forward a proposition for the creation of an international tribunal for the massacre and genocide in the Democratic Republic of Congo and ask the preceding countries to put human right first to give strong signal for the end of impunity and massacre in the great lakes region and specifically in DRC. However the organisation is deeply concerned by the lack of humanities among the leaders of great Lake Region such as Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi and Angola who have used means of pressure to undermine the report or have it shelved by the United Nation, this act demonstrate a lack of respect for the dead and a continuous culture Human right violation in the great lakes region. Therefore PFP regret the laxity of the DRC government toward it own army accused in several time of human right violation and ask the DRC government to act internally to show his commitment for the improvement of human right. But it support the statement made by Luzolo Bambi minister of Justice of DRC in which he calls for a special jurisdiction to judge the criminal such as ICC. Okapi (2010) PFP understand the need of peace reconciliation and stability in the great lake region and greet the effort of the international community to seek means of stability and economic growth in this region of Africa particularly in DRC, but ask justice for the respect of those lives was taken by force. |
